The Review: Stars is the inevitable debut album from Britain’s Got Talent winners, Collabro. The five lads’ voices blend beautifully in a record that is immensely enjoyable, polished but ultimately predictable. The usual musical theatre choices feature, songs from Les Misérables, Chess, West Side Story, alongside a cover of a recent pop record and a rendition of Let It Go (from the hit movie Frozen), which is a highlight of the album (but show me someone who isn’t singing that!)
There’s very little to criticise here. It’s a great record but just not daring enough, although it does play to the punters.
The Verdict: Predictable but polished.
