The Review: Some will see that this is the story of a gay relationship and turn away. Which is a great shame. Look past the sex and what you have is a story of true love and unimaginable loss.
Tim and John were a real couple. This is their story. I read of their school frolics and years of fun and discovery with tears in my eyes. I finished the book, lives destroyed by AIDS, crying my eyes out.
A beautiful book portraying a tender, flawed, but always loving, relationship. And, in its own way, a mighty two fingers to the naysayers.
The Verdict: Read it and weep.
